Inspired by vintage Halloween, spooky kids’ stories and nightmares I’ve had about doors opening into pitch black voids, “Dark Dark Dark” is an atmospheric descent into madness. I wanted to make something completely different than what I had done before. Using sound effects, voice over, backgrounds and camera moves to induce fear and tension instead of characters and narrative. It’s hard to describe it to people, since it really has no central protagonist or plot, but I like to think of it as a visual poem and that YOU are the main character going on this journey through the darkness. Made in 4 months with a crew smaller than LGG.
SKILLS:
-Flash/ Adobe Animate, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop
-Storyboarding, animating and cleaning up animation sequences in Flash/ Adobe Animate
-Directing teams of animators, compositers, voice actors, musicians, sound mixers.
-Writing an entire story by myself.
-Designing characters/ props.
-Editing in Premiere Pro.
