“Blenderstein!” is my thesis film from The School of Visual Arts. Upon graduation all traditional animation students must complete one. This was the height of my classic horror fascination so doing a Frankenstein story was obvious. I wanted to do something with no dialogue so it can be more universal, but also I wanted to be able to listen to music and watch movies while I worked. Animating dialogue takes a lot of concentration and I knew I would be working long and late hours. SVA also has an award ceremony called “The Dusty’s” and I was honored to have won two for this film: Best Animation and Best Character Design.
